My favor summertime active is riding on the back of Jim’s 2005 Harley. It took him over 2 months last summer (2007) before he would let me ride with him, I was the first person he let ride with him on the bike. Since then we have rode on many rides together.
Fall of 2007 we went to Myrtle Beach bike weekend, but did not take his bike because it had just gotten out of the shop and when planning the trip we were not sure if it would be out. But we still had a good time.
In the Spring of 2008 we went to Nags Head’s bike weekend and had a blast. This was a good time to go to Nags Head with the bike; as there were not as many summer vacationers there and so the traffic was not as bad as it can be during the summer season. We stayed with one of his friend’s from North Virginia, who now lives in Nags Head and another friend from Richmond. We rode all over the island, from Manteo to Corolla. In May we went to Myrtle Beach again for bike week, this time with the bike. We went with friends from Richmond and Caroline. We were on the bike all day from Saturday when we arrived to Friday the day before we left, except for Sunday it had rained overnight and was a little cool for riding to me – many people were out on their bikes.
I am hoping by early spring of 2009 to take the motorcycle safety class to obtain my motorcycle licenses, which I think would be fun. Then hoping to purchase my first Harley.
